2017 Can Jam

The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is the largest private hunger-relief organization in eastern Oklahoma who feeds the hungry of Eastern Oklahoma through a network of Partner Programs. They endeavor to provide food security, with dignity, for all eastern Oklahomans. On their website, this is what is listed under who we serve:
With locations in Tulsa and McAlester, we provide food and other donated goods to 450 Partner Programs in 24 counties of eastern Oklahoma. These programs include emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs and senior citizen centers. Together, we provide more than 339,000 meals each week to people struggling with hunger. During Fiscal Year 2016 we distributed more than 21.1 million pounds of food, 31 percent of which was fresh produce.

I am explaining all of this because I want you to grasp how important it is to give back to one's community and why what local Tulsa Country music station KVOO is doing is so impressive and basically pretty darn cool. They announced a concert called Can Jam 2017.

The way it works is stated clearly on the station's website

To get your tickets, stop by special KVOO van collection stops with a canned food donation to benefit the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Minimum 1 can per ticket and limit 1 pair of tickets per person per stop. This is a 21+ show.

So do you want to know who you get to see when you come out and support a cause that helps so many Oklahomans? There is not just one artist, but four! That is right you get to see Joe Nichols, Brett Young, Frankie Ballard, and Seth Ennis! The show is at Paradise Cove in River Spirit Casino Resort, but not until August 20th at 7 PM. The second ticket location is this Friday the 6/16 at The Tate Boys at 71st and 145th in Broken Arrow from 11-1 and the first 45 people get tickets!

It is sure to be an incredible night so keep your radio stations on 98.5 KVOO and do not miss out on your tickets or helping out the incredible Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma!

Chase Rice Is Coming to the Historic Cain's Ballroom

For the first time ever, country singer/songwriter Chase Rice will be performing at the Historic Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa OK. Cain's Ballroom has hosted such legendary artists as Bob Wills, Kay Star, and Hank Williams. It continues to be a popular venue for artists of all genres to perform at and on June 24th, 2016 ACM nominated New Male Vocalist of the Year, Chase Rice makes his debut there. You may recognize Rice from such songs as "Ready Set Roll" and "Gonna Wanna Tonight." Both songs can be found on  his first album Ignite the Night.  An album that actually debuted at number one on Billboard Top Country Albums. Rice's current single "Whisper" is from his yet to be released sophomore album. The opening line of the biography on Rice's website says,  "When he takes the stage to perform, Chase Rice pulls no punches."  An opening line like that definitely says great things about an artist and tells me this is one performance debut not to be missed. Corey Kent White is a country singer you may recognize from  season eight of the popular tv show The Voice. However, this talented young artist has been actively performing since he was 11 years old, long before his television debut. White has performed with such country acts as the legendary Willie Nelson, Lee Brice, Blake Shelton and The Swon Brothers. White also just wrapped up a tour with Toby Keith!  He's got an EP out now titled Making Noise and over thousands of hours of stage experience. This talented singer/songwriter has achieved all of this while being a full time college student! Last week Corey Kent White released some exciting news. He is about to embark on a headlining tour that is to benefit Folds of Honor.

Folds of Honor is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities to the families of America's fallen or wounded heroes. Folds of Honor was started by Oklahoma Air National Guard fighter pilot Major Dan Rooney in 2007. This amazing organization has several ways in which you can help support their cause. At the beginning of 2016, Folds of Honor's newest partner Corey Kent White is bringing another way of helping to a city near you.

According to a video released by White, a portion of the proceeds from the tickets and merchandise sales from this concert series will be donated to the incredible organization. This will happen when the series comes to an end at the Folds of Honor QuickTrip 500 in Atlanta, GA. This is sure to be an incredible tour with a talented young artist. Tickets are on sale now. I've already got my tickets and I can't wait to write about the opening show at Cain's Ballroom on January 23rd.
